GENERAL PURPOSE Under general supervision, coordinate daily production activities to achieve departmental and organizational goals. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, ensuring production schedules are met, determining output requirements, and coordinating efforts with other departments. Train and assist operators with both new and existing products, troubleshoot issues with team members, and promote continuous improvement initiatives. Perform all duties with a strong focus on safety for oneself and others. Support the Work Team Leader in managing daily departmental operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Coordinate daily departmental activities for employees and temporary staff, including planning shifts, assigning tasks, and managing line staffing. Communicate daily team and individual performance updates to the Work Team Leader and provide input on corrective actions when necessary. Commit to meeting overtime requirements. Education/Experience One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency 5 - 10 years of experience in a machine room environment, including CNC machining. Skills and Abilities In-depth knowledge of various lumber species and experience using glue reels (preferred). PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to bend, twist, and stand for up to 10-12 hours and lift up to 40 pounds. The following physical activities may occasionally be required: Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
