We are seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Architect to join our managed services team, where you will play a key role in both strategically designing and implementing Microsoft 365 solutions while directly managing and supporting the ongoing needs of our clients within large-scale enterprise environments. This role will require deep expertise in SharePoint Server and SharePoint Online, along with extensive experience with the entire suite of Microsoft 365 online services. The ideal candidate will spend approximately 25-30% of their time driving SharePoint-specific strategies and implementations, and 70-75% will be focused on architecting, designing, and delivering comprehensive Microsoft 365 solutions across various services such as Exchange, Teams, OneDrive for Business, Defender, Intune, Purview, Entra AD, and third-party integrations. The candidate should have a deep understanding of Microsoft Government Community Cloud (GCC), large enterprise environments, and complex deployments.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Architecture & Design (70-75%):
  • Lead the architecture and design of Microsoft 365 environments, ensuring solutions align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and customer leadership to design scalable and secure Microsoft 365 solutions, with a focus on high availability, security, and compliance.
  • Architect and implement solutions across Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive for Business, Defender, Purview, and Intune.
  • Develop and manage strategies for integrating third-party tools with Microsoft 365 services.
  • Lead discussions with customers regarding Microsoft 365 online services, guiding them through strategic decisions and best practices.
  • Provide high-level guidance and support on enterprise-level deployments, including complex migrations, integrations, and configurations.
  • Drive change management initiatives for large-scale Microsoft 365 deployments, ensuring smooth transitions for users and systems.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to understand their requirements and actively participate in the implementation and deployment of Microsoft 365 solutions, ensuring that the team delivers hands-on support as their trusted IT partner.
  • SharePoint Server/Online Focus (25-30%):
  • Lead the architecture and deployment of SharePoint Server and SharePoint Online solutions, ensuring seamless integration with other Microsoft 365 services.
  • Design SharePoint environments that support document management, collaboration, and business process automation, aligned with organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their SharePoint requirements and design custom solutions to meet business objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance on SharePoint governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Manage complex SharePoint migrations, upgrades, and hybrid deployments, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
  • Customer Engagement & Communication:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers on Microsoft 365 and SharePoint-related matters.
  • Conduct regular meetings with customer stakeholders to ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives and evolving needs.
  • Present and explain technical solutions and architectures to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
  • Offer ongoing support post-deployment by proactively managing and optimizing Microsoft 365 environments, providing guidance on best practices, and implementing continuous improvements based on customer feedback and the evolving capabilities of Microsoft 365.
Desired Experience
  • Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in architecture and design of Microsoft 365 environments, with a focus on large enterprises.
  • Expertise in SharePoint Server and SharePoint Online design, implementation, and migration strategies.
  • Proven track record in architecting and deploying Microsoft Exchange, Teams, OneDrive for Business, Defender, Intune, Purview, and Entra AD in complex, large-scale environments.
  • Experience with third-party tools integrations within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Government Community Cloud (GCC) and experience working with enterprise-grade deployments in regulated industries.
  • Extensive experience in leading change management processes for Microsoft 365 services and driving adoption across organizations.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Expertise in SharePoint Online/Server configuration, migration, and governance.
  • Experience with Intune, Azure AD, Purview, Defender, and advanced Microsoft 365 threat protection.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Teams architecture and integrations, including hybrid and cloud-only configurations.
  • Strong experience with Exchange Online/On-Premises design and migration strategies.
  • Experience with automation and deployment tools, such as PowerShell, Power Automate, and other Microsoft 365 management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL-based service management, including incident, change, and problem management in large enterprise environments.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Education & Certifications
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Microsoft certifications in relevant technologies:
  • MS-100: Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • MS-500: Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate
  • MS-700: Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate
  • MS-203: Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate
  • MS-101: Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate

The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings ("OTE") for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
