JOB SUMMARY: The NARC Milieu Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and safety of patients by Community Counselors in all NARC departments. The NARC Milieu Supervisor creates a safe environment for patients, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for staff to use when working with patients. The NARC Milieu Supervisor provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Director of Admissions. Primary responsibilities include the supervision of Community Counselors, ensuring a safe and therapeutic milieu, and crisis intervention. The NARC Milieu Supervisor will function as a staff-development trainer, sharing expert techniques and strategies with core and PRN staff. This will include demonstrating effective crisis-management skills, taking proactive steps to prevent crises in the NARC departments when warning signs become evident, and provide a coach-to-team approach of problem-solving in the NARC departments. Additionally, the NARC Milieu Supervisor will be responsible for recognizing NARC team members who need additional training with therapeutic techniques/skills and provide intentional redirection and oversight to help improve such skills. Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred. Experience: Three to five years of experience working with psychiatric mental health population, experience in inpatient hospital setting, or experience working in a healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training.
