Lead Mentor, Assistant Tutor/Mentor Coordinator Requisition ID: 2024-8361 # of Openings: 1 Location: US-UT-Logan Category: Other Position Type: Non-benefited (hourly) Part-Time Job Classification: Non-Benefited College: Athletics Department: Student Athlete Services Advertised Salary: $16.00 per hour Overview The mentor is responsible for working with student - athletes who are experiencing academic difficulties and/or have newly matriculated to Utah State University. The mentor's role is to serve as a supportive resource for student-athletes and provide them with tools and resources to help them mitigate their identified challenges. Mentoring helps student-athletes learn fundamental academic success skills that can help them become more effective at self-regulating their own learning. The position will be utilized mostly in the area of handling tutor/mentoring appointments and training. Responsibilities Responsibilities: Oversee scheduling of tutor and mentoring appointments Create monthly reports indicating academic session data Oversee no-show policy communication Serve as a mentor in student-athlete academic services (SAAS) department (when needed) Assist in SAAS training of all tutors and mentors Communicate to campus faculty and staff and recruiting of tutors Mentoring sessions do not include: Subject tutoring Personal Counseling Course Advisement/Eligibility Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Junior, senior or graduate student External university candidates must have a bachelor's degree Experience working with excel and scheduling software Must be ethical, responsible and professional Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Required Documents Along with the online application, please attach: Resume to be uploaded at the beginning of your application in the Candidate Profile under "Resume/CV" Unofficial Transcript to be uploaded at the beginning of your application in the Candidate Profile under "Documents 1-10" Cover letter to be typed/pasted at the end of your application Document size may not exceed 10 MB. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
