Production Assistant - MM

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Supervises: N/A

Summary Statement: Under the general direction of the Production Supervisor, the person in this position leads the production of the employees in Military Markets following established work and safety procedures.

Essential Job Functions



  • Assign work to department employees, moving them to various jobs as needed to meet production goals.
  • Perform periodic quality checks.
  • Ensure operator efficiency and quality, providing additional training as necessary.
  • Retrieve, review and document a variety of information in the computer.
  • Fill in for the Production Supervisor during his absence.


Marginal Job Functions



  • Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
  • Participate in training and meetings as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Working Conditions



  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work 10-hour shifts.
  • Must be able to work both planned and unplanned overtime.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a regular basis.


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities



  • Must be able to read, write, and interpret instructions.
  • Must have a basic working knowledge of computers.
  • Must be able to professionally encourage and facilitate cooperation and teamwork to reach a common goal.
  • Must have the skill to act in a tactful, sensitive manner.
  • Must be able to comprehend and perform duties using established work and safety procedures.



Education and Work Experience



  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in a production environment preferred.
