Job Summary: The Cordia team is seeking a Project Engineer to support maintenance and capital projects across the sites in the eastern region. Reporting directly to the regional project manager, this role is pivotal in leading the development and execution of projects while ensuring safety, cost efficiency, and adherence to schedule. Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas: Project Planning
- Support leadership in developing long-range plans for maintenance and growth projects throughout the eastern region.
Project Development
- Collaborate with plant management to develop project scopes, justifications, and key deliverables that align with operational goals.
- Work with engineering partners and internal technical resources to develop technical specifications and designs.
Project Estimating
- Develop detailed cost estimates to ensure proper project budgeting.
- Conduct monthly reforecasting to support accurate financial reporting.
Process Standardization
- Contribute to standardizing Cordia's project management processes.
- Create best practices and standards, lead design reviews, and improve management of change procedures.
Construction Management
- Oversee onsite construction activities to ensure safety and scope of work.
- Coordinate with external contractors and engineering partners to ensure safe and successful project delivery.
Commissioning
- Coordinate onsite commissioning activities with site operations.
- Support operational startup and completion of turnover packages to the site teams.
Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices in design and construction.
Continuous Improvement
- Promote a mindset of continuous improvement in safety, reliability, maintenance, and project management initiatives.
Reliability
- Support regional reliability initiatives, including:
- CMMS implementation.
- Root cause analysis.
- Plant reliability assessments.
Plant Support
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting equipment, plant initiatives, and other assigned technical tasks.
Required Qualifications: Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management, operations, or maintenance environments.
- Prior work experience in an industrial setting is preferred.
Skills: Communication:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively.
Leadership:
- Proven ability to lead and train others to enhance project management capabilities.
Technical Proficiency:
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project scheduling tools.
- Experience using project scheduling tools and NetSuite ERP functions.
Best Practices:
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices for construction management, safety, and project management.
Multitasking:
- Exceptional multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple projects and activities simultaneously.
Collaboration:
- Comfortable working across multiple facilities and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
