Lean Engineer SUMMARY Support project team with applying Mortenson's kaizen-based continuous improvement approach, as well as 5S and Flow Construction, to enhance work safety, streamline processes, and improve project outcomes. This position requires 100% travel with regular rotations home every 3 weeks for 5 days. This is not a remote position. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner closely with project leadership and craft workforce to establish trust and gain buy-in for lean approaches
- Provide regular feedback to project leadership and the group lean leader on the application of lean approaches to assist in cross-project sharing, including craft workforce participation/engagement, the activities undertaken, and related outcomes
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Support continuous improvement efforts onsite
- Coordinate with the project team to plan and execute improvement events
- Assist and facilitate portions of improvement events with the support of group and company experts
- Provide support in reinforcing continuous improvement principles and ensuring ongoing application of essential tools after improvement events
- Support forepersons on observing work, assessing adherence to standardized work, and addressing abnormalities effectively
- . Collaborate with forepersons to actively encourage crews to brainstorm and implement improvements on an ongoing basis
- Support the project team, field leaders, and trade partners in applying 5S practices
- 2. Support superintendents and forepersons to apply disciplined and consistent daily planning, work management, and learning approaches 3. Assist in promoting and maintaining continuous efforts towards one-piece flow for self-perform work and move away from batching practices

QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid understanding of continuous improvement principles and how they apply to different work processes and environments

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering or other science or mathematical related degree, or equivalent combination of education and technical/field experience demonstrated over multiple years of related work experience
- Internship experience in construction or manufacturing
- Prior experience on construction job sites preferred
- Current driver's license

The base pay range for this role is $78,600 - $96,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. #LI-GB1 Please make note:
