Responsibilities

As Director of Substation Engineering, you will lead the engineering team in designing, analyzing, and optimizing Substation while managing projects from concept to commissioning. This role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards, overseeing budgets and schedules, and integrating projects into broader energy infrastructure plans. You'll also mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to support cross-functional collaboration and project success. Other activities may include:

  • Project Leadership & Management: Lead all phases of Substation projects, from design through construction and commissioning. Manage budgets, schedules, and project deliverables
  • Technical Expertise & Compliance: Oversee design, analysis, and optimization of Substations. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols
  • Collaboration & Integration: Work with cross-functional teams to align Substation projects with overall energy infrastructure
  • Team Development & Support: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across departments


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • Typically has 10+ years of experience in Substation engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of Substation design software and tools
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
