Your Role With Us:Responsible for triaging and managing incoming patient and healthcare calls, processing and directing patients through the program. Able to relay information to team members to keep them informed as well as other providers. Process is tracked.Provides excellent service to internal and external customers. Demonstrates empathetic, helpful and courteous behavior to all customers. Exhibits ability to express appreciation of the customer's unique needs.Maintain patient charts/and files including but not limited to scanning discharged charts of discharged patients, filing charts and pulling charts to support clinic workflows.Maintains working knowledge of all departmental processes including insurance verification and authorization. Knows accurate information for the required criteria for each individualized insurance plan to meet requirements and avoid patient denials for care.Responsible for coverage and/or assistance to the Clinical Tech l and their essential job functions.Consistently handles calls proportionally to time allotment and clinic staffing schedule. Returns phone messages in a timely manner.Assist the clinic in providing clerical and logistical support to all staff.Responsible for scheduling and coordination of patient appointments. Responsible maintaining scheduling templates in EPIC.Assists adding data and tracking audit tools as requested. CNA certification, Medical assistant, clinical tech, or unit clerk2. EMT B certification3. Enrolled in an accredited nursing school with completion of a minimum of one (1) year.4. Previous experience as an ED Tech or in a comparable role (i.e. CMA, UAP).Minimum one (1) year experience working in a medical environment as a medical assistant, CNA, Clinical tech or like experience with preferred experience in acute care, ambulatory care, emergency care or Emergency Medical Service setting.Strong preference with insurance pre-authorization, billing and coding; Strong preference with patient schedulingDemonstrates ability to accept a variety of patient care and unit maintenance assignments.Recognizes limitation according job description, training, and proven competenciesDemonstrates dedication to strong interpersonal communication skills with co-workers and patients exercising tact and sound judgement.Demonstrates working effectively and professionally with physicians, nurses and other hospital employeesDemonstrates interacting professionally and compassionately with patients and their familiesRequires self-direction and the ability to exercise judgment in promptly prioritizing and completing tasks with accuracyDemonstrates knowledge and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet all patient populations.Ability to maintain a calm demeanor while working in a fast-paced atmosphere of conflicting demands. * Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.Excellent typing and transcription skills; Excellent skill in correct use of English and grammar.Demonstrates flexibility of work schedule by flexing hours, and assignments to meet patient and departmental needs while maintaining unit productivity.Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is an equal opportunity employer.
