Recruiting Specialist

General Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating the recruiting process and supporting the HR operations team by recruiting and filling roles, participating on interview teams, managing our Applicant Tracking System and participating in offsite recruiting events to ensure staffing needs are addressed, compliance requirements are met, and are in alignment with Graniterock's Strategic Priorities and business objectives.

Essential Job Accountabilities



  1. Comply, understand, and promote safety initiatives to ensure "Safety Before All Else."
  2. Post job requisitions, recruit and screen candidates to assist hiring managers with selecting the most qualified new Team Members. Coordinate and schedule interviews and prepare interviewer materials.
  3. Partner with operations and union craft hiring halls to meet construction project demands and ensure a competent and qualified craft workforce. Additionally, work with unions to meet local hire and project apprenticeship requirements.
  4. Manage the new hire on-boarding process to ensure compliance and that our people are set up for success in their new role.
  5. Provide administrative support with all HR operations programs, including Graniterock Culture Day and other training, to develop our workforce and promote the Graniterock culture.
  6. Provide general office administrative support as needed.
  7. Partner with the HR team on the companywide college relations program (including attending all onsite college career fairs) to ensure a full pipeline of interns and new grad hires.
  8. Assist with administering our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to track key recruiting metrics and ensure system and candidate records are organized and up-to-date.
  9. Assist with all Affirmative Action, diversity and inclusion activities and ensure compliance with federal, state and local agencies.
  10. Assist in coordinating and participate in community outreach/involvement and job fairs.



Education and Work Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 1-3 years of recruiting and/or Human Resources support



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information of employees
  • Ability to cultivate trusting, professional, and respectful relationships with all employees
  • Good understanding and experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (Taleo experience is ideal)
  • Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to present to groups from 1 - 50 people
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Sense of urgency
  • Ability to travel to various branches and recruiting events and work varied hours when necessary
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
