Engineer/Analyst

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for an Engineer/Analyst to support the Missile Defense Agency in Test Design and Analysis. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• The engineer/analysis will support MDA flight testing for the Truth and Planning team, performing pre-mission analysis, mission execution, support, and post-mission data analysis.
• Will perform Matlab and/or Python scripting, developing a flight test design, including trajectories, link margin, and safety analyses.
• Will support the Best Estimate Trajectory (BET) development of both instrumented and uninstrumented vehicles/objects using telemetry, radar and optical data, optical sensor analysis, radar signature analysis, debris analysis, statistical analysis of large sets of trajectories, documenting, and briefing results.

Required Experience:

• BS in Engineering or STEM plus 7 years of experience in mission planning and/or analysis.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team. Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate with teammates.
• Experience in performing data analysis using MATLAB, Python, TAOS and/or TGx programs
• Coordination of transformations, tool development, problem-solving, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, CSS, HTML, and/or Javascript.
• Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Existing TOP SECRET Clearance.
• Experience in analyzing and/or creating trajectories of ballistic missiles.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Experience in radar analysis (tracking, RCS) of objects in flight.
• Experience in developing/analyzing optical signatures/sensors.
• Experience in ballistic missile range safety analyses.
• Ability to clearly and concisely present data analysis to leadership and peers.
• Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate with teammates to organize and execute tasks.
• Experience with the development of web-based wikis or web-based data displays.
• Familiarity with the Missile Defense Agency flight test program.
