The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for shipment planning and coordination between carriers and suppliers to ensure uninterrupted drug supply across the entire network. The Senior Specialist / Manager will also do inventory movements in relevant systems and manage or support quality events while working very closely with Technical Operations, third-party suppliers, Quality Assurance, Procurement and Regulatory teams.

Essential Functions and Duties



  • Coordinate import/export and domestic shipment planning and execution for key raw materials, API, drug product and finished product across the product lifecycle for both clinical and commercial products.
  • Maintain shipment tracking, documentation and support reporting logistics operations.
  • Responsible for inventory movement, reconciliation and reporting in Akebia's ERP system.
  • Own and manage deviations, change controls and support updating SOP's, WI's and other GMP documents.
  • Use Serialization system to ensure compliance with DSCSA.
  • Support ERP and Quality systems on a regular basis; test, improve and maintain master data as needed. Perform timely transactions to ensure system inventory is up to date.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to establish logistics requirements, shipment schedules and material status across the supply chain. Inform key stakeholders of status, issues, problems, and propose solutions.
  • Generate purchase orders for manufacturing related activities. Track financial adherence to budget relative transportation and warehouse spend.
  • Foster effective cross-functional teamwork and drive plan execution. Proactively track critical path activities, anticipate risks, support creating contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time delivery.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years supply chain experience, with a focus on logistics
  • Experience with managing quality events


Preferred Qualifications:



  • ERP experience
  • Serialization experience
  • 3-5 years logistics experience.
  • Import/Export Shipping Experience
  • Familiarity with U.S. Custom/FDA/USDA requirements for US imports of pharmaceuticals and international regulations for international shipments


Travel Requirements:



  • Travel domestically and internationally: 5%


Compensation:

Targeted Base: 123,165 - 152,145*

*Base Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Base pay is only one component of the company's total rewards package, all regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or the incentive compensation program (if applicable), as well as equity. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, etc.
