Internship Overview:

Join us for an exciting internship experience and solve complex real-world problems, gain valuable on-the-job experience, and become immersed on a technology team at the country's largest electric power holding company. During this time, interns will learn more about data meter management, grid delivery and gain valuable insight from working in a collaborative and innovative environment on the Meter Delivery Solutions team. Interns will also learn more about the company's business operations by touring multiple Duke Energy facilities, networking with other Interns and hearing directly from senior leaders.

Basic Qualifications -

  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program as a rising Sophomore or Junior or Senior
  • Enrolled in an IT or Engineering related major, such as Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Software Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
Desired Qualifications -
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Previous IT or Engineering internship or co-op experience
  • Exposure to or familiarity with application design and development, data science and cloud computing
  • Leadership potential or skills displayed through extracurricular activities (e.g., intramurals, boy/girl scouts, clubs and organizations)
  • Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Community service, volunteer experience
  • Self-driven, motivated, and proactive
Working Conditions:
  • Hybrid mobility classification - work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations. In office 2-3 days per week.

  • Housing stipend available when applicable

  • Many of our opportunities require a 40-hour work week.

  • Internship summer session length is 10-12 weeks
