West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is currently inviting applications and nominations for the following employment opportunity:

The Leonard C. Nelson School of Engineering seeks to hire multiple adjunct faculty members potentially for the Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering and Computer Science, Information Systems and Construction Management Programs. Salary is established on a per-course basis. All positions are part-time and not benefits-eligible.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching mainly in-person classes and labs and (potentially some online courses) forthe undergraduate programs in the Leonard C. Nelson School of School of Engineering.

WVU Tech is a regional division of the West Virginia University system and is located in Beckley, West Virginia. It boasts a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio and an average class size of 17 students, allowing personalized attention in a supportive environment. WVU Tech is ranked first in the state for return on investment, and seventh in the nation in annual ROI for students paying in-state tuition. The campus is near state and national parks and numerous recreational opportunities.

WVU Tech offers a broad array of programs including four-year (BS) programs in Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering; Computer Science; and Information Systems.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in the program's field or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years full-time professional work and/or teaching experience in the program's field is required.
  • A Ph.D. in the closely related field is preferred.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence, responsiveness to student needs, and good communication skills are essential.
