Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas Grantham is looking for a REMOTE Faculty Manager in the following states: AR, AL, AZ, DE, FL, GA, KS, IA, ID, IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NM, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI and WY.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for conducting in-depth reviews of online classes, providing feedback/academic coaching and participates in faculty scheduling. The role ensures that the appropriate academic performance expectations are met. Manage multiple and concurrent departmental projects. A successful candidate will demonstrate a high attention to detail, effective communication skills and problem-solving abilities. The position reports to the Director of Faculty, will work closely with other members of the academic team and perform other duties as assigned.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

50% - People Management
*Supervise part-time faculty
*Monitor and evaluate part-time faculty daily classroom performance to ensure academic expectations are being met and notify faculty regarding their performance in a timely manner
*Other duties as assigned
*Regularly provide course check-ups to various faculty

40% - Operational Management
*Conduct bi-weekly faculty performance meetings with the program chairs
*Utilize the appropriate academic dashboard systems and reports to monitor faculty engagement
*Teach one course a year

5% - Stakeholder Engagement
*Collaboratively participate in the hiring, training, and motivating of part-time faculty
*Collaboratively complete part-time faculty performance appraisals
*Implement mentoring activities for new and continuing part-time faculty

5% - Continuous Learning and Development
*Continuously update skills and knowledge through required training
*Seek feedback and opportunities for growth to enhance expertise and effectiveness Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years higher education online teaching experience
  • 3 years of management experience
  • Experience managing a team in a remote environment preferred

SKILLS:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a team and with leadership
  • Be decisive and have the ability/courage to address matters head on
  • Ability to communicate in an online environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills, academic reasoning, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people (students, faculty, staff, and administrators)
  • Ability to gather, analyze, evaluate, and integrate information electronically
  • Maintain close attention to detail and produce work in a timely fashion
  • Proficient in MS Office with experience with a learning management system such as Bb, Canvas, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Language Skills: Able to read, analyze, and interpret common journals and legal documents. Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Able to effectively present information to executive management, faculty, staff, and/or students.
  • Mathematical Skill: Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to present facts to faculty for departmental response. Able to deal with a variety of information presented in oral or written formats. Able to deal with non-verbal behavior in assisting with problem resolution.
