Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Analytics Engineer II to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Tableau and SQL for data visualization and analysis, as well as experience working in or knowledge of the 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) or logistics industry. The Analytics Engineer II will play a critical role in supporting the business by working with business stakeholders to design scalable data models, create actionable reports and metrics, and drive data-driven decision-making.
This position serves as a member of the Wagner Logistics IT team and shall uphold and comply with the policies, standards, and attitudes adopted by the company, and shall follow the guiding principles of Best Practices, leveraging process improvement and fostering cultural change, where appropriate.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to support business objectives.
* Develop, maintain, and optimize data models, pipelines, and ETL processes to support reporting and analytics.
* Design and build scalable, high-performance dashboards and reports using Tableau.
* Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple sources.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and supply chain, to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
* Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement within the logistics or 3PL environment.
* Develop end user training, then schedule and execute it.
* Identify and leverage opportunities to continually strive for data integrity in all applications, processes, documentation, and standards.
* Monitor and improve the performance of analytics solutions to ensure optimal delivery of insights.
* Identify the features, advantages and disadvantages of various software applications.
* Support data-driven decision-making by providing timely, accurate, and insightful reporting.
* Other Projects or tasks as assigned by Management.
What You Need:
A. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field or relevant years of experience in the industry.
B. Experience: 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role.
* Advanced proficiency in Tableau for building dashboards and data visualizations.
* Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries.
* Experience in developing scalable data models and working with large datasets.
* Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.
C. Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
* Ability to demonstrate competent IT literacy around applications and systems.
* Experience working in the 3PL or logistics industry.
* Familiarity with supply chain processes and operations
* Understand the data warehouse and its relationship with transactional data, as well as the importance of data integrity.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
*Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
* Ability to independently manage multiple medium/large sized projects or tasks and implement them in a timely manner and within budget.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
* Availability for occasional travel to attend training, assist with start-ups, etc.
* Work in a climate-controlled office environment
* Use hands and fingers for keyboard and computer input
* Use eyes, ears and voice for seeing, hearing and speaking on the telephone and to others
