Department:Graduate Studies & Continuing EdDepartment's Website: Summary of Job Duties:The Assistant Director of Continuing Education reports to the Dean of the Division of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education and provides leadership for Continuing Education. Duties of the Assistant Director include:*Recruit students for classes and programs offered through Continuing Education *Liaise with education and business leaders to identify, and assist UAPB academic departments to develop new programs and certificates desired by area schools and businesses to enhance the capabilities of their students or employees *Meet the needs of degree and non-degree seeking and non-traditional student (Special or Concurrent enrollment) initiatives on credit and community education. *With the assistance and consent of the academic departments, identify and secure qualified and appropriately credentialed adjunct faculty to teach classes through Continuing Education *Schedule courses for Continuing Education *Review course syllabi for compliance with academic requirements *Assist community organizations in planning new continuing education programs, workshops, meetings and seminars desired by the public *Ensure that Continuing Education meets the academic needs of the instructors and students *Collaborate with the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success, Division of Student Affairs, and Division of Institutional Advancement and Development to grow enrollment, place graduates in careers and assist with university fund raising efforts in support of Continuing Education's mission *Supervise and evaluate support staff *Other duties as assigned The Assistant Director is expected to be a motivated, self-starter who will work under minimal supervision.
