Sr Manager, Network &Systems Engineering

As a leader, you will set an example and establish a team culture that promotes proactive collaboration across IT and internal departments. Your key leadership responsibilities will include: setting goals and objectives for your internal team and third-party resources and evaluating their performance and achievements; participate in negotiating favorable prices with vendors for hardware, software, and services; collaborating with other departments on disaster recovery and business continuity strategies and solutions; and building strong relationships with the business and IT users to understand their network & Systems requirements and project expectations.

Essential Duties:



  • Lead two teams consisting of network/server engineers and administrators to engineer, troubleshoot and support the Enterprise infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with other departments (Corporate Applications, Engineering, and Terminal Technology Support) to ensure that network & systems requirements are fully understood and fulfilled.
  • Oversee network & systems design and documentation standards, the change control process, and operational processes for the department.
  • Assist in managing network & systems technology vendors and services providers.
  • Monitor the performance of the network & sever environments
  • Research and recommend service providers and products; evaluate emerging technologies and recommend future directions.
  • Enhance the information security posture of the company's data by building and implementing improved processes, procedures, standards and tools.
  • Work with IT and business operations to support our business continuity and disaster recovery processes and strategies
  • Position is on-call 7x24 as a key escalation point within Enterprise Infrastructure


Physical Attributes:



  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and work on their feet as required
  • Must qualify for Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours
  • Ability to travel up to 20%


Minimum Requirements:



  • 7+ years of senior-level experience in the design, implementation and support of a complex enterprise network & systems infrastructure
  • 3+ years of experience in managing a team of Network and or Systems engineers and administrators
  • 3+ years experience working with Cisco route switch concepts and routing protocols, Palo alto firewall administration, modern and legacy Microsoft server OS's,
  • 3+ years vendor management experience


Preferred Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Microsoft, Cisco/Meraki, Nutanix AHV, VMware, Barracuda, Palo Alto certifications
  • Good working knowledge of and hands on experience with Cisco /Meraki technologies is essential.
  • Good working knowledge of and hands on experience with Nutanix AHV, VMware, Barracuda load balancers, and Linux server administration
  • Ability to analyze problems and solve them, creating solutions that are practical, cost effective, reliable and meet the needs of the business.
