Apply now Title: 2025 Summer College Internship: Business Analyst Intern Department: Operations PMO Location: Sacramento, CA, US, 95827-3824 Category: Student Apply by Date: 01/31/2025 SMUD's Operations PMO group is looking for an intern to assist the team with project and portoflio management, business analysis, and operations support. The intern will gain hands-on experience in data analysis by using Excel to analyze data sets, identify trends, and generate actionable insights. They will assist with project support tasks, including scheduling meetings, coordinating project timelines, and ensuring project milestones are met by following up on outstanding issues. Additionally, the intern will maintain accurate documentation of data analyses, dashboard updates, and project progress for reporting purposes. Collaboration will be a key aspect of the role, as the intern will work closely with team members to understand their data needs and provide analytical support, including creating dashboards in Excel and/or Power BI to effectively present data. The intern will gain a valuable opportunity to get hands-on experience in data analysis and project management while working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment here at SMUD. Under staff direction, incumbents in this classification are full-time students who perform research and analytical tasks for projects and assignments that utilize specific and acquired academic skills and knowledge in non-engineering subjects and disciplines. Nature and Scope
The work performed in this classification calls for regular application of analytical and independent research skills. This work is distinguished from students engaged in repetitive and easily learned tasks who are employed in the Office Assistant (clerical/technical) classification. Incumbents in the Engineering Student Assistant classification perform at a similar level but are restricted to students majoring in an Engineering curriculum and performing tasks that employ acquired mathematical and science knowledge. Required Education
Registration as a full-time student (minimum of 12 units) at a resident academic institution in a declared curriculum that will provide the specific skills and knowledge that will contribute to available work assignments. Desirable Qualifications
