Public Space Attendant (Part Time)

THE ROLE

The Public Space Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and impeccable presentation of the hotel's public spaces, including lobbies, restrooms, hallways, and back-of-house areas. This role ensures guests have a pristine environment that aligns with the hotel's high standards of service and quality.

At Aparium, our housekeeping teams are expected to hold themselves, the guests, and each other in high regard. You will actively develop trusting and transparent relationships with your peers, both in the department and throughout the hotel. You will have the opportunity to work with a phenomenal group of individuals with whom collaboration, humbleness, and open-minds are the norm-no egos are allowed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize all public areas, including lobbies, restrooms, hallways, elevators, and staircases.
  • Ensure all back-of-house areas are maintained to the same high standard as public spaces.
  • Dust, mop, vacuum, polish, and wipe down surfaces, ensuring all areas are free of debris, smudges, and stains.
  • Replenish supplies in restrooms and public areas, such as tissues, soap, and hand sanitizer.
  • Remove trash and recycling promptly and safely, ensuring compliance with environmental policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly and addressing their inquiries courteously.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests for special cleaning needs or amenities.
  • Report maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures or equipment) to the appropriate department.
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation protocols, including the use of PPE when required.
  • Ensure compliance with the hotel's quality standards, including the use of specified cleaning agents and tools.
  • Follow a daily checklist to guarantee no area is overlooked during cleaning.
  • Communicate effectively with housekeeping staff and other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules and special projects.
  • Assist in maintaining the housekeeping supply inventory and report any shortages to the manager.
  • Support deep-cleaning projects and seasonal cleaning initiatives.
  • Take on other responsibilities as directed by management.

WHO YOU ARE

You are humble and understand the need to work side by side with others; and you take feedback to make things better seriously. It is quite natural for you to walk into a hotel and see the potential of the environment and how it could work for a variety of people, groups, events or meetings. The first thing you prefer to discover is the event space, thinking "how big is the ballroom and how many people does it hold?" or "I wonder what the rooms are like and how many suites do they have?". And for giggles, you are tempted to ask the front desk for a sales contact so you can take a tour. Your career experience has been dynamic and is filled with numerous success stories of how you captured indecisive groups. You are adventurous in discovering the needs of your city and known to walk the area to connect and drive business to fill those seasonal gaps, all without a central reservations system as your individual effort has been greater than a central reservation system could keep up with. For you to feel comfortable within our portfolio you will have familiarity with secondary markets and recognize that hospitality differs from city to city and even from neighborhood to neighborhood. You are comfortable with casual sophistication and realize the concept of luxury has evolved to be approachable and not cookie-cutter.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

  • Paid time off
  • Free shift-meal prepared by our in-house culinary experts
  • Powerful sense of belonging through diversity, equity, and inclusion
