As a Senior Product Safety and Compliance Engineer your goal is to plan and perform a variety of complex engineering assignments to promote the safe and compliant use of products; ensure compliance with government standards and adoption of industry standards. You'll lead product safety reviews, tests and assessments for compliance with Federal, State and International standards, product compliance, and/or product safety best practices for Briggs & Stratton machines including outdoor power equipment. You'll also evaluate progress and results of projects and routinely communicate key regulatory issues. Additionally, you'll support product specific compliance responsibility on external standard/regulatory setting panels for assigned area(s) of responsibility; recommending and direct changes in design, procedures or objectives as necessary.
