Primary Purpose of Organization Unit
The Office of Global Engagement ( OGE) advises on international and study abroad matters. Directs and implements international education activities, serves as the main representation abroad, and is a resource for the campus community regarding internationalization efforts. The OGE is under the leadership of the Associate Vice Chancellor ( AVC) of Global Engagement.
Primary Purpose of Position
Serves as the office's principle daily operations manager and serves as a Designated Signing Official with the Department of Homeland Security, Student and Exchange Visitor Program.
Job Description
Coordinate the day-to-day functions of OGE and projects under supervision of the AVC. Assist in the preparation of budgets, monitor and maintain accounting records as appropriate.
Work with student interns and coordinate schedules.
Prepare written communications for review by AVC prior to disseminating to various groups on and off campus about OGE and related issues.
Perform routine administrative office duties and use computers, phones and other general office equipment.
Coordinate and schedule meetings, events and other activities.
Serve as one of the contacts for OGE.
Monitor and track data and generate reports as needed.
Respond to customer or client needs and follow up with them on issues as needed.
Serve as Designated School Official to generate I-20s (immigration documents) for international students in initial status.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Management Preference
Bachelor's degree. Prior experience working with international students and/or students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Preference for candidates who demonstrate strong cross-cultural competency and/or language ability.
Lic or Certification required by statute or regulation
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident in order to meet regulatory requirements as a Designated School Official ( DSO) per US Department of Homeland Security.
