The Opportunity

We are seeking a Legal Technology Software Engineer to join our Firm. This position will be based in our New York office and has a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Please note that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

As the Legal Technology Software Engineer you will:

  • Create and add features to websites using Angular, C#, ASP.NET Core, HTML, SASS, CSS, JavaScript, SQL.
  • Create and add features to existing WPF applications using C#.
  • Develop custom Web APIs.
  • Create databases and application interfaces based on analysis of requirements within established guidelines.
  • Meet with team members and end-users to establish software requirements.
  • Develop application testing plans and assist with the testing process, including contention with existing desktop applications.
  • Instruct Legal Technology Trainers in use and training of the software.
  • Assist with integration strategies between applications.
  • Prepare analyses of processes and requirements.
  • Contribute to documenting user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Consult with team members regarding design and implementation of application.
  • Write high performance code using recommended coding standards.
  • Develop unit tests to test code implementation.
  • Research latest technology trends.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Job-Related Competencies:

  • Experience in developing applications using Angular, C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, SQL, JavaScript, HTML5, WPF/MVVM, ASP.NET/MVC
  • Experience with developing Web API
  • Experience integrating applications with third-party APIs
  • Ability to design SQL database objects for SQL Server
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of Azure Dev Ops Server
  • Strong problem solving abilities and an aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of four years' software development work experience

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

$130,000 - $145,000
