Job Description Summary

The Kandada research group is seeking a part-time Research Associate to provide computational support for cutting-edge projects at the intersection of molecular spectroscopy and quantum dynamics. The successful candidate will collaborate with postdoctoral researchers and graduate students to develop computational tools for analyzing experimental data. These experiments focus on:
1. Photon counting methods in molecular and optical spectroscopy.
2. Coherent nonlinear dynamics of exciton-polaritons.
A key emphasis will be on leveraging machine learning (ML) techniques to extract insights and observables from experimental datasets.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Computational Development:

    • Design and implement programs to analyze photon statistics from quantum spectroscopy systems.

    • Develop models to extract photophysical observables using ML and quantum information science techniques.

    • Construct phenomenological models to interpret ultrafast dynamics of exciton-polaritons from experimental data.

  • Research Support:

    • Conduct literature reviews to identify innovative computational approaches.

    • Curate and organize experimental data for analysis and future reference.

    • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate progress and findings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Physics, Physical Chemistry, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated expertise in computational physics, quantum dynamics, or computational chemistry.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven insights.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Python programming and related libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and their application in physical sciences.

  • Experience in quantum information science or optical spectroscopy.

Accountabilities:

  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and meet deliverables within agreed timelines.

  • Provide weekly progress updates to the supervisor.

  • Collaborate effectively with group members to achieve research objectives.
