OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANYFox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content. JOB DESCRIPTION

WOFL Fox 35 is looking for strong, creative, take-charge producer who has a vision for the newscast and knows how to turn a plan into remarkable television. Candidates must be aggressive, decisive and creative. We are looking for someone with stellar news judgement who owns big stories and wins breaking news coverage. The successful candidate must think big and communicate effectively with everyone on the team. The candidate must also be assertive yet calm under pressure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Select, research and write stories that are clear, concise, fair and accurate
• Communicate and coordinate with executive producer, anchors, reporters and photographers to create memorable, creative television.
• Assign stories to APs and follow up with them once stories are written
• Monitor latest developments in stories and update all copy
• Be a leader in the newsroom by actively participating in story selection
• Know how to showcase special elements in the newscast and understand how to create an exciting viewer experience
• Work independently with minimal oversight from management to produce assigned newscast.
• Thrive in a fast-paced workplace and stay calm under pressure
• Attend and participate in editorial meetings by bringing story ideas to the table on a daily basis
• Produce graphics for news stories
• Work with anchors to ensure the delivery of the copy is urgent, exciting and connects with viewers
• Select the best video and soundbites for stories and write copy to match
• Have a good understanding of time management to meet deadlines.
• Have a commanding presence in the booth, effectively communicating changes to the director, anchors, reporters and audio operators.
• Participate in newscast critiques
• Write, edit and post stories on the station's digital and social platforms
• Write and produce effective teases, headlines and cold opens
• Work with reporters, photographers and assignment editors to identify the best elements to tease
• Adhere to all professional broadcast journalism standards concerning legal and ethical issues

Typical Physical Requirements of Position:

Regularly stand; walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; and; talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a TV news department producing newscasts. Strong creative writing skills and editorial judgment

EDUCATION: College degree in an applicable discipline such as broadcast journalism

OTHER: Working knowledge newsroom computer systems and digital platforms

**NOTE: COMPENSATION RANGE FOR THIS LOCATON IS $60,000 - $68,000 ANNUALLY**

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $60,000.00-68,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $50,000.00-56,600.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
