Locksmith DAS - Facilities Hourly Pay Range: $25.11 - $37.65 Milwaukee County DAS Facilities is looking for a skilled locksmith to join our team. If you have excellent troubleshooting skills and a can-do attitude. You'll perform a variety of services such as installing, repairing, and adjusting lock systems and access control devices. The ideal candidate has at least 1+ years of experience in secured detention/high-security facilities and work in areas with sensitive information and assets and is familiar with using hand and power tools to perform locksmith work. If you enjoy doing something different every day? Apply now! Summary: The Locksmith performs journeyman level work requiring expertise in all FMD detention, judicial and commercial sites. Ability to understand, assess and repair institutional detention, Paracentric, and Mogul keys and locks and sliding security doors. Must be able to operate Locksmith high tolerance key cutting machines, ability to machine parts and knowledge of brazing. Must have ability to use tight tolerance measuring tools, read construction documents, work with Bio Metric key system, working knowledge of Office Word and Excel. Work at times under duress and emergency conditions. The Locksmith also maintains key card access system, electronic key distribution devices and key logs. Maintain and ensure the security of key and access systems information. Accepts being scheduled to respond to 24/7 emergency calls to detention facilities, courtrooms, and public buildings. Repair different types of building and office locks including ASSA, MEDICO, FOLDGER ADAMS, SCHLAGE and CORBIN RUSSWIN Job Duties:

Additional Comments: Locksmiths working for government institutions are recognized as being "Institutional Locksmiths." Their wages cannot be compared to residential or automotive locksmith wages. Institutional Locksmiths are in a separate industry serving governments and institutions as inhouse security experts with mechanical expertise and security system knowledge well above normal locksmiths. They are associated with the carpentry trade but do not enjoy union representation as employers separate them to insure loyalty. An ethical employer should compensate Institutional locksmiths parallel to carpenters because they are specialized from the carpentry trade. Must be able to work in all Milwaukee County facilities including secured detention/high-security facilities and work in areas with sensitive information and assets Applicants must successfully undergo a criminal history background check to establish security clearance for Milwaukee County facilities and maintain this clearance throughout employment.
