The Export Specialist is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office a minimum of 1 day a month. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Carrollton, TX.

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day orders, customer service, claims and export legalities for customers in a specified region. The position is responsible for keeping abreast of, and adhering to, all customs and export regulations, while cost effectively facilitating transport to the foreign destination. Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to:



  • Ensure that orders are filled timely and accurately.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation is obtained for each shipment. Including, but not limited to, USDA inspections, Halal certifications, Free Sale Certificates, Chemical & Microbiological Certificates and any required special labeling.
  • Prepare quotations for current customers interested in new McLane Foodservice products.
  • Negotiate freight rates with forwarding companies to obtain optimal rates.
  • Research export/import laws for assigned region, to ensure McLane Foodservice is meeting all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Execute Sight Draft documentation and manage documentation requests for Letters of Credit, to ensure prompt collection. This position Is also responsible for ensuring the receipt of payment on prepay accounts. These orders can range from 50K to 100k, and must not be released before payment is received.
  • Gain new customer accounts/sales in the region, by contacting prospective customers. Work with new customers to collect the proper documents required for new accounts, including credit applications and financial records.
  • Required to do research with the distribution center, carriers, (including trucking companies and steamship lines) freight forwarders and customers, regarding any claims on shipments.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree, preferred.
  • Have 2-year work experience, preferably in export field or logistics.
  • Have PC proficiency (MS Word, Excel).
  • Have ability to multi-task and use 10 key by touch.
  • Have strong detail skills.
  • Be bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred, for the Latin American region.
  • Office environment.
  • Candidates may be subject to a background check and drug screen, in accordance with applicable laws.
