ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Plans and conducts management system audits to ensure that current practices are in line with established policies, procedures and systems to ensure effective implementation.
  • Assists the scheduling department to ensure audits are completed as planned.
  • Prepares Audit Plans, Audit Reports, and Corrective Action Response Reviews and communicates audit results and conclusions. Submits completed Audit Reports to the designated SRI Audit Operations Coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Follows up on audits to ensure Corrective Actions are effectively reported and appropriately closed.
  • Completes all required Aerospace training.
  • Provides information and data to the V.P. of PRI Certification about issues and problems related to processes and systems of the Aerospace program.
  • Maintains all auditor credentials, as required.
  • Performs internal witness audits under the direction of the V.P of PRI Certification, as assigned.
  • Authorized certification decision maker for all Certification Activities, including report review, CAN closure, and Certification Decision (issue, suspend, withdraw, reinstate, renew).
  • Communicates with the Accreditation Bodies and IAQG regarding External Witness Audits and Finding Resolution.
  • Assesses Auditor Competency and provides the required Technical Training.
  • Coordinates responses to Aerospace feedback or scorecards.
  • When questions arise, supports personnel responsible for maintaining OASIS database.
  • Monitors contract review activities to ensure quotation and contract acceptance meet all requirements.
  • Supports the China office for all Aerospace audits and related questions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering/Technical Bachelors degree, with four years of appropriate practical work experience within a recognized scope of certification activity and Auditor experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Documented Auditor training and proficient knowledge of ISO 9001 or various other standards.
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications including M.S. Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, and the internet.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Proficient in technical writing skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 19011, report content, accreditation rules & regulations, if selected as an Internal Witness Auditor.
  • Knowledge of all PRI Certification procedures and related forms.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace accreditation requirements.
  • Meets the requirements to become an approved AS AEA auditor or already has an active OASIS number.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel Required: As agreed by contract, with a target of no more than 6 days per month out of the office
  • Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or more up to 50 pounds. Work requires regular physical strain such as long periods of driving and flying. Specific visions abilities require by the job include close distance, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with regular exposure to shop elements such as very loud noise, moving parts, odor, dust, fumes, heat, cold or chemicals.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: The performance of this position regularly requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area were under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection, steel toe shoes and hard hats.
