Primary Purpose

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager-Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) advances Parkland's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals by managing and maximizing the value of Employee Resource Groups. The individual serves as a liaison, provides multi-faceted support for ERGs, and is directly responsible for fostering critical alliances with internal and external stakeholders. The role is integral in creating, promoting, and executing strategies that increase DEI awareness, ERG membership, employee engagement, and inclusive practices in the workforce and community. The ERG Program Manager supports strategic priorities and other efforts to further evolve Parkland's commitment to DEI.

Minimum Specifications

Education

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in the area of Diversity Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Must have three (3) years of relevant work experience in program/project management.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience developing and leading successful employee resource group programs.
  • Previous experience leading D & I team engagements with senior leaders and teams, including human resource business partners.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

  • May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

  • DEI Certificate or Certification preferred.
  • Project Management Certification preferred.

Skills or Special Abilities

  • Must be able to develop and implement workforce diversity & inclusion initiatives.
  • Must be able to facilitate learning interventions.
  • Must have exposure to design and implementation of High Potential development programs and succession planning.
  • Must be able to galvanize organizational leaders around Inclusion as a business lever.
  • Must be adept in the use of the Microsoft Office suite software.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation/facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, develops, and supports Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to include creating and executing strategies, guiding ERG leadership, and ensuring the ERGs deliver visible and measurable business impact.
  • Assist Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in executing strategic priorities to drive a culture of DEI. Collaborates to ensure an impactful implementation of such strategy.
  • Develops, implements, and reviews ERG guidelines and strategy to deliver more streamlined operations, increase employee engagement, and promote equitable practices in the workplace and community.
  • Provides effective guidance and oversight to ERGs and their leaders, ensuring alignment and integration of ERG strategic plans, budgets, and programming with the goals of the overall DEI team.
  • Manage other key ERG platform components, including leader selection/onboarding/training; planning and execution of annual ERG Diversity Fair/Showcase/Awards; developing ERG performance metrics and dashboard; facilitating ERG budgeting process.
  • Partner with Communications team to develop ERG communications strategy, guidelines, and templates; oversee strategy and work directly with ERG leaders to ensure consistent execution.
  • Provides professional support along with the DEI team to develop, implement, and facilitate online and instructor-led professional development programs and activities that create experiential learning experiences for system-wide audiences.
  • Collaborate with ERG leaders, DEI team, Executive Sponsors, and other stakeholders to execute strategies for retention, engagement, and promotion of diverse talent.
  • Coordinates with other departments on DEI related initiatives including job fairs, health fairs, benchmarking assessments, surveys, and competitive and marketplace research on diversity, inclusion, and equity trends.
  • Serve as ERG ambassador to the organization and other key stakeholders promoting the ERG value proposition to better engage with current and future employees.
  • Leads and co-lead team effectiveness engagements including diagnosis, design, intervention, and evaluation with a focus on enhancing employee engagement and patient experience.
  • Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of DEI by attending seminars/workshops/trainings, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
  • Assures the quality of educational offerings through the creation and implementation of evaluation processes. Assists in creating measurement systems to track outcomes of initiatives and programs.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the DEI department. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
  • Oversees and manages the production of brochures, newsletters and internal/external website content relating to Parkland's diverse and inclusive initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
  3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
