Program Overview:

The LNA Professional Development Engineering Program is an eighteen (18) month rotational program within your assigned division. The program focuses on recruiting outstanding engineering talent from key universities or early career to infuse emerging talent into our company for continued technical and business-related succession planning.

The core of our eighteen (18) month rotational program is based on experiential learning in a fast-paced mining and plant operations environment. We believe the very best operations professionals in our organization all have a solid foundation of our business from working or exposures to different areas. As such, we have rooted this program with the support of our leadership and as an Operations Engineer you will gain experience in cross-functional areas.

Program Requirements:

This program requires rotation across one of our 4 Divisions with a focus on the key components below:

  • Lhoist onboarding (location Fort Worth): Understanding the business and building a commitment to Lhoist.
    • Company history & overview
    • Key policies and procedures, safety & compliance orientations
    • Operational Fundamentals course
  • Experiential & on-site learning based on defined regional division work plan: Strengthening technical field expertise and contributing to the company's long-term growth.
    • 1-3 months: Environmental, Health & Safety Quality (Division and/or Irving Lab)
    • 12-14 months: Plant Operations (Production Maintenance Process Supply Chain Sales)
    • 1-3 months: Divisional-based project in collaboration with the Headquarters Technical Manufacturing team
  • Knowledge & leadership skills: Developing technical and people management skills.
    • Professional development courses and trainings throughout duration of program with exposure to finance, human resources, leadership and people management

The Operations Engineer must be willing and able to relocate to one of the following Divisions:

  • Texas
  • Alabama
  • Missouri
  • Tennessee
  • Nevada

Throughout the time in the program, the Operations Engineer will be engaged with your senior leadership and plant leadership teams regarding your career path as well as support and guidance from a mentor. The Operations Engineer will also present to our executive staff, which is led by the CEO, regarding the experience and recommendations at the end of the program.

Program Benefits:

As a full-time employee in the program, the Operations Engineer will receive competitive base salary, eligible for annual bonus program, benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401K), relocation assistance, and your performance will be reviewed on annual basis.

Upon successful completion of the program the Operations Engineer could be placed in a role across one (1) of our LNA locations along with potentially being provided a full relocation package and a thirty-six (36) month retention incentive to remain with the Company long-term.

Criteria:

We are looking to hire full-time qualified engineering candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences, open minds, and a disciplined work ethic with ability to work in a boots on ground, hands on environment.

Successful candidates must have at least 0-5 years of proven previous work experience which could include internships, or co-ops with a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent engineer field in the following below:

  • Mechanical Engineer
  • Electrical Engineer
  • Chemical Engineer
  • Civil Engineer
  • Industrial Engineer
  • Metallurgical Engineer
  • Construction Management

Key knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Must have highly effective communication skills (verbal & written)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong presentation and public speaking skills.

Must have a proven ability to prioritize, and manage multiple tasks/projects while meeting all required deadlines.

Have a demonstrated ability to plan, organize, be detailed, and delegate.

Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs

Must have solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint software.

Must be capable of working any shift, on-call, overtime, or seven days a week, if needed.

Must be willing to work in plant and/or office daily. Hybrid or remote work is not available.

Must be willing to relocate as directed by the Company at the appropriate time. Flexibility is required.

General Physical Demands:

Must be physically able to perform work assigned.

Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, working over water, and accessing tunnels.

The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles

The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting.

Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Some travel maybe required at times as directed by leadership.
