Job Summary

The Catering Operations Manager for Restaurant Associates at Harvard Medical School holds duties related to the successful coordination and execution of daily catering operations. This position is primarily Monday through Friday, daytime hours and is the ideal opportunity for an entry level manager seeking experience in the highest quality corporate dining environment. This position consists of 70% administrative duties (client bookings, placing vendor orders, inventory, menu creation, event signage, etc.) and 30% operations (floor presence and leading staff in event execution). This role requires outstanding communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft products and technology. and strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, organize and motivate hourly associates in daily operations
  • Outstanding hospitality and an ability to build outstanding client relationships
  • Assists with daily catering operations including planning and event execution
  • Provides accurate data for reporting, costing and presentation of information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Operationally savvy industry professional with demonstrated leadership in managing people, events and the overall guest experience
  • Strong organization, time management and team motivation skills are essential for success in this role
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with clients and guests
  • Ability to respond effectively to continuously changing demands
  • Effective use of discretion to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • 3-5 years' experience in a hospitality management environment
  • The ability to manage in an environment with focus on client service, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business
