S&ME is looking for a motivated and passionate Team Leader to join our Environmental team in Raleigh, North Carolina. Are you ready to contribute your education and knowledge to meaningful projects? Join us at S&ME!

What You Will Do:

As a Team Leader, you will manage a team within an office, combining and utilizing organizational resources to ensure staff achieve their individual goals. This contributes to the overall objectives of the office, region, market sectors, service lines, and the company. In addition to managerial duties, you will also serve in your professional or technical role, such as Project Manager or Engineer.



  • Staff Management: Recruit, select, supervise, train, and mentor employees to build and maintain a strong team.
  • Project Efficiency: Allocate staff to projects based on billable rates and utilization, ensuring profitability and quality standards are met.
  • Technology Utilization: Use Microsoft Word, Excel, BST, and Workday for various tasks including proposals, payroll, billing, and employee data management.
  • HR Consultation: Work with the Operations Manager, Office Principal, Regional Director, and HR on hiring, discipline, and termination matters.
  • Timesheets and Expenses: Review and approve staff timesheets and expense reports in compliance with company policies and laws.
  • Resource Management: Oversee supplies, equipment, and vehicles, and support staff in obtaining necessary technical training, licenses, and certifications. Coordinate with other leaders to ensure resource availability.



Who You Are:



  • You have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a closely related field and a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience OR a minimum of 7 years of combined work experience and vocational training
  • You have decision-making using critical thinking and problem-solving skills based on research and evaluation of available information
  • You have an understanding of business metrics, safety policies/procedures, human resources policies/procedures, risk management concepts, and other applicable policies and procedures
  • You have a Professional Licensure, a plus
