RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Assistant Director of Clinical Care for Community Medical Center.

Community Medical Center, is a 592-bed, fully accredited acute care hospital offering area residents world-class medical treatment with the comforts of hometown care. Opened in 1961, CMC has evolved into the state s newest teaching hospital with four residency programs and Ocean County s largest and most active health care facility caring for over 21,500 inpatients, 178,000 outpatients and 73,700 emergency department patients each year.

Qualifications:

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current New Jersey RN License
  • At least 2 years acute care nursing experience or 2 years acute care nursing experience with previous management experience

Preferred:

  • Preferred Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or currently matriculating

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS Health Care provider through American Heart Association
  • Additional certifications may be required as per the Administrative Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift, 40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • The Assistant Director of ICU assesses, plans, implements and evaluates delivery of patient care with 24-hour responsibility for total management of the ICU Department in coordination with the Director of ICU,
  • Provides administrative direction and works collaboratively with administration, intensivists, and physicians for development and evaluation of all nursing personnel and maintains operational aspects of the patient care unit in collaboration with support services,
  • Contributes to nursing and the hospital through support of philosophy and objectives, educational and research efforts,
  • Accountable to assure that HCAHPS, patient, employee, and physicians satisfaction scores are all in acceptable ranges,
  • Accountable for building and directing teams to improve core measures and other Joint Commission initiatives,
  • Accountable to educate the critical care nursing team including new technology, clinical practice, and validation of competencies,
  • The Assistant Director has ongoing dialogues with nurses both one on one and in monthly staff and clinical unit,
  • This position reports to the Director of ICU and is proactive in identifying needs of staff and resolves issues to improve patient care and supports nursing leadership direction,
  • Furthermore, it is a positive reactor assuring new initiatives and practices are followed according to evidenced-based practice, consistently and without bias
