Position Summary: The position is within the Pathology department and has a specific focus on chemistry and hematology. You will perform tests requiring the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal supervision. Must have the capacity to operate clinical laboratory equipment in the completion of automated and manual procedures. Technologist trained as generalists may be assigned to any area or combination of areas. Technologist trained in a specialty will be assigned to the area of their specialty only. Requirements Rapid PCR Testing Plating Gram Stains Bactec Mointoring Plate Reading Qualifications Must meet one or more of the following requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college or university. ASCP certification required Successful completion 3 years of academic study (minimum of 90 semester hours) which met specific requirements for entrance into a school of medical technology and has successfully completed a course of trainingof at least 12 months in such a school. Bachelor's Degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and has at least 3 years of pertinent full-time laboratory experience and/or training in the specialty or sub-specialty in which the individual performs tests.
