Overview: WURTH is seeking an experienced and results-driven Construction Key Account Manager to spearhead business development efforts and enhance market position within the Construction Vertical. In this hunter role, you will leverage your exceptional skills in prospecting, problem-solving, and negotiation to identify and address customer needs proactively. By showcasing how WURTH MSM's products, services, and solutions drive customer performance, you will forge partnerships with C-suite executives, directors, and managers, while building a robust future business pipeline through strategic sales methodologies. This role is based in Jacksonville, FL, and requires significant travel. Reporting directly to the Construction Vertical Manager, you will drive revenue growth through strategic sales and marketing activities, including the development of sales plans and collateral in collaboration with internal stakeholders. CORE RESPONSIBITLIES include the following and all other duties assigned:
- Deliver personalized, professional presentations to decision-makers, securing multi-year partnership agreements and providing insights and consultative solutions tailored to the unique challenges of the construction vertical.
- Build and maintain executive relationships, including facilitating executive presentations and debriefings to align on long-term goals.
- Pursue National, Regional, and Local Account Opportunities within the Construction Vertical, focusing on WURTH MSM's comprehensive value proposition to support construction clients with safety, efficiency, and compliance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to construction clients, understanding their project needs, supply chain challenges, and operational requirements, and offering tailored solutions such as Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs and customized procurement strategies.
- Collaborate with National Business Development Managers and Key / Corporate Account Managers across the WINA enterprise to share insights and maximize customer entry points and revenue potential.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales funnel with highly accurate analytics, ensuring consistent ownership of the business pipeline and achieving or exceeding annual revenue goals.
- Act as a liaison between construction clients and internal departments to ensure seamless execution of projects, including product delivery, inventory management, and customized service offerings.
- Support construction clients with proactive solutions to address critical areas such as workforce safety, project timelines, cost management, and material shortages.
- Regularly provide senior management with customer updates, sales reports, and insights on trends impacting the construction industry.
- Stay informed on emerging construction technologies, market shifts, and competitor offerings to continuously refine WURTH MSM's value proposition and competitive advantage.
- Assist in implementing tailored Conex Jobsite Solutions, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs to streamline client operations and reduce costs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to drive construction vertical growth.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Industrial Distribution, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of five years of industrial sales experience in related products and industries, with a focus on the construction sector preferred.
- Proven track record of business acquisition, including negotiation, relationship-building, and closing skills, with experience addressing the unique needs of construction clients.
- Strong presentation and proposal writing abilities, with the ability to communicate value in the context of construction operations.
- Analytical skills to make data-driven recommendations and decisions that align with client project goals.
- High level of self-motivation, accountability, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities:
- High ethical standards and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, particularly within the demanding construction sector.
- Strong data analysis capabilities to assess client needs and optimize solutions.
- Valid driver's license with an approved driving record.
- Willingness to travel extensively (50%-75%) to develop and maintain client relationships.
Pay Range: $125,000 - $150,000 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus.
