In the role of a Grants Operations Associate you will be working in Surgery .
Purpose
Under direction of the Senior Grants Operations Coordinator, the Grants Operations Associate supports the Department of Surgery in the pre-award planning, organization, and preparation of grant proposals. Collaborating with investigators and administrative staff, the Associate ensures compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and institutional requirements. They will also assist investigators in identifying and developing grant opportunities while gaining hands-on experience in pre-award processes.
Primary Functions
- Assists Principal Investigators and research teams in the developing, preparing, and submitting grant proposals to federal agencies, foundations, and internal funding opportunities.
- Coordinate grant submission activities, including submission to the MCW Grants and Contracts Office via MCW's research management system, eBridge.
- Ensure compliance with sponsor terms, MCW policies, and federal regulations.
- Manage timelines and facilitate communication among multiple parties during the grant preparation process.
- Create, update, and verify biosketches and other supporting documents.
- Prepare, review, and refine grant-related budgets.
- Evaluate grant quality, including reviewing for grammar, formatting, and adherence to submission guidelines.
- Collects letters of support and cost-sharing forms, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
- Develop and maintain template documents for grant submissions.
- Learn and utilize grant management tools, including NIH Assist and MCW's research management system, eBridge, for submission and tracking purposes.
- Partner with the Senior Grants Operations Coordinator to identify opportunities for process improvement and streamline workflows as appropriate.

Minimum Required Experience: 2 years of experience
