As a Systems Engineer on our team, you have the chance to deliver products and services to government clients in the directed energy field. You will work on complex technical problems, provide highly innovative solutions, develop advanced technology ideas, and guide system development into a final product. You will apply knowledge of the systems engineering discipline across one or more components of the system development lifecycle (SDLC), including concept development, technical planning, requirements development, system analysis, system design, integration, verification, transition, operations, obsolescence, and disposal. You will participate in program integrated product teams (IPTs) and drive the proper application of systems engineering processes. You will need to demonstrate experience with the systems engineering (SE) process for system acquisitions, including systems engineering plans, system engineering technical reviews (SETRs), system certification processes, and specialty engineering activities.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience performing systems engineering for weapons systems

  • Experience with systems engineering requirements and concept development, design and development of system architecture, systems hardware and software design and development, and conducting Systems Engineering Technical Reviews

  • Experience with system integration and checkout, configuration management and trouble report tracking, test and evaluation of system performance, and documentation of test results

  • Experience interfacing and coordinating activities with external agencies, including Joint programs with the Army

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with US Navy or armed services' directed energy systems research and development programs

  • Experience writing Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), System Requirements Documents (SRDs), and System Specifications and deriving performance requirements at the subsystem level, using a requirements management tool such as Jira

  • Experience with combat system integration with command and control, weapon control, networks, display systems, and communications systems

  • Knowledge of other SE disciplines, including configuration management, risk management, program protection or cybersecurity, system safety, and certification processes

  • Knowledge of Laser Safety Review Board and Laser Clearinghouse requirements

  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) techniques

  • Ability to define system requirements and Design Reference Missions (DRMs) and refine them as needed throughout system development and develop the system design, including interfaces

  • Ability to identify and support the test and integration activities required to verify and validate the system against requirements and needs

  • Master's degree

  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
