Vascular Sonographer - PRN

Job Description:

PRN

Department hours - 8 hours shifts, Mon thru Fri.
On call hours are weekday evenings and weekends. Call is rotated between all staff.
Department hours are 0630-1700. Shifts flex between these times.

Under the direction of a cardiologist, performs diagnostic sonographic procedures at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment. May be assigned as a preceptor in areas of specific.

Job Duties:

• Reviews patient chart and results of previous diagnostic studies and records patient's personal and medical information.
• Selects appropriate equipment and proper technical factors on an individual patient basis according to specific orders and part of body examined.
• Provides technical skills as required for testing (Intravenous access and contrast administration).
• Assists patient in assuming physical position for required examination.
• Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

Requirements:

• Must be Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
• Must obtain BLS certification within 3 months of employment
• Must obtain Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDSC) within one year of employment.
