Global Systems Engineering (GSE)is a HUBZone small business that supports the federal government with a variety of high-end technical and engineering services. GSE is currently seeking a motivated, self-driven Public Health Intern to join our team supporting the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) Modernization of Chemical Hazards Emergency Medical Management (CHEMM). On this 18-month project, the intern supports research, analysis, and validation of site content as well as project reporting and logistics.

To be qualified, the candidate MUST be a US citizen.

Responsibilities assigned to this position include:



  • Collaborate on internal, team-specific projects
  • Organize spreadsheet applications and write reports
  • Apply research methods and in-depth analysis on various CHEMM topics
  • Update, create, and validate online content



Required Qualifications:



  • High School +3 years of experience in relevant field
  • Must have lived in a HUBZone for the last 6+ months and will continue to live there for at least 6+ more months. Check to see if your address is in a qualified HUBZone by going to: maps.certify.sba.gov
  • Must be able to work between 40-50 hours per month.
  • Must have clear, professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and in teams
  • Must have proficient understanding of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Powerpoint



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Working towards a degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, or a related field
  • Have an aptitude for or an interest in the online communication of public health related information
  • Detail-oriented, well organized and able to work effectively both independently and with a team
  • Ability to multitask across multiples projects



Period of Performance:

January 2025 to Jun 2026
