Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and/or education, and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus.

Summary

At the direction of the Department Manager, the Payment Operations Specialist will be responsible for support and back up for one or more areas within the Payment Operations Group which includes ACH, Wire, Item Processing, Statements, Remote Deposit Capture, Lockbox, Courier, Bankcard and Exception Item Processing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job.
  • Will perform lead duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Complete assigned tasks in accordance with procedures and established deadlines.
  • Assist in the timely completion of special projects/tasks assigned to Payments Operations.
  • Provide back up and support for all Payment Operations functions
  • Must be flexible and alert to the needs of the department by being enthusiastic and willing to cover any department as needed.
  • Provide input and support for process improvement, operation efficiencies and automation of department processes and implementation of new technologies.
  • Assist in the creation, review and certification of department procedures.
  • Clear outstanding differences in the branch settlement accounts within three business days and outstanding differences in the correspondent and suspense accounts within 90 days.
  • Provide, present and promote The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

May perform lead duties at the direction of the Supervisor. Carries out lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

All Payment Operations Specialist Positions require a high level knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Navigator and Director. Knowledge of Viewpoint and other software technologies such as SFTP, Database management, etc is helpful.

Wires

Global Funds Exchange (GFX & GFXW,) EIM, or equivalent experience with wire systems,

ACH

PIM

Clarity or equivalent experience with risk management software

Bankcard

  • Monarch or equivalent
  • FISERV Client Central or equivalent
  • Guardian Analytics or equivalent

Item Processing

TCM or equivalent experience with file transfer software

Image Repair

SCO or equivalent back counter software and scanners

Statements

Pitney Bowes Series 8 or equivalent statement mailing machine

Director CD or equivalent cd/dvd creation software

Director Document Distribution

Rimage CD creation

Lockbox

Pay Data or equivalent lock box software and scanners

Courier

Premier Teller or equivalent software and scanners

Remote Deposit Capture

SCO or equivalent remote deposit software and scanners

Exception Item Processing

Fiserv Premier

Exception processing - Day 2 activities

Positive Pay

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Payment Operations Support for the Electronic Services Department (Wires and ACH) requires the ability to obtain Accredited ACH Professional (AAP Certification).

Payment Operations Specialist for Item Processing and Exception Item Processing requires the ability to obtain Accredited National Check Professional (NCP Certification).

Other Skills and Abilities

Qualified candidate must be able to perform in a changing fast paced environment. Changes include process improvements, automation and technology. Have excellent technical abilities and can multi task.

Other Qualifications

Qualified candidate must be flexible to meet the needs of the department. The ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Exception Item Processing, Item Processing, Remote Deposit Capture and Lockbox require the ability to work early morning, afternoon and evenings.

Statements requires the ability to work nights and weekends during month end processing.

Salary Range:$20.00 To $26.25 Hourly
