Role Overview:

As a Product Manager for event technology, with a focus on ACS's meetings mobile application, your mission is to enhance the meeting experience for attendees across our Annual Meetings, regional events, and specialty conferences. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, digital experience, product development, and meetings and events, to drive innovative technology solutions that improve usability and foster connections to the ACS brand. By integrating emerging trends in mobile event technology, you will develop and implement strategies to provide seamless, user-centered digital experiences at our events.

Key responsibilities include:



  • Mobile Meeting Experience: Lead the end-to-end product management of mobile features tailored for ACS events, such as real-time collaboration, networking tools, exhibitor engagement, interactive agendas, virtual conference maps, and personalized content recommendations based on user preferences.
  • User-Centric Approach: Collaborate with the DPX team to conduct in-depth analysis of attendee pain points and feedback to inform actionable product requirements that elevate the event experience and value proposition.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on trends in event technology, mobile collaboration tools, and digital networking solutions to identify opportunities for differentiation and integration into the ACS meeting platform.
  • Feature Prioritization: Leverage user research in collaboration with vendors, development teams and event stakeholders to prioritize features that enhance attendee engagement and productivity during ACS events.
  • Vendor Management: Manage and negotiate relationships with technology partners, mobile app vendors, and service providers specializing in event-related technology solutions.
  • Brand & Event Consistency: Ensure the consistency of the attendee experience across the ACS Annual Meetings, regional meetings, and specialty conferences, tailoring functionalities where needed to suit the unique aspects of each event type.
  • Performance Metrics: Define success metrics, tracking performance, user adoption, and engagement at various ACS events.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyze user feedback, metrics, and performance data across different event types to identify areas for improvement and drive iterative design and development cycles.


Qualifications:



  • 8+ years of industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years leading a successful event technology solutions.
  • Previous experience in mobile product management, digital event technology, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated success in managing event technology for large-scale events, ensuring seamless user experience, and meeting event-specific needs.
  • Proven experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional and digital design, user experience, engineering, communications, and marketing teams.
  • Strong leadership, project management, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with event planning stakeholders.
  • A systems-thinker with strong organizational skills for building teams, aligning resources, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery of mobile solutions for events.


Skills:



  • Familiarity with mobile app design principles and user experience best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess feature impact and user adoption.
  • Comprehensive understanding of technical project lifecycles, from writing technical requirements to front-end development and quality assurance testing.
  • Knowledge of web development standards, including cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and adherence to WCAG 2.2 and Section 508 accessibility guidelines.
  • Proficient with project management platforms like Jira, Confluence, Asana, and Smartsheet to facilitate efficient project management and collaboration in an event-focused environment.


This role is based in our Washington, DC office. Employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of working onsite two days per work week, as decided by functional area. The balance of the week is open to working remotely, though employees are always welcome onsite each day if they choose. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $140,000 to $180,000 per year.

Any actual offer of employment, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be made in the sole discretion of ACS. ACS reserves the right to amend or modify its employment benefits and compensation structure at any time.
