Description

The position will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Office of Awards & Programs. The intern will be responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of the ACS National Awards Program, the ACS Fellows Program, and the ACS Heroes of Chemistry Program.

Position Summary

The intern will be responsible for one or more of the following: assisting with the production of the ACS Fellows Ceremony and Heroes of Chemistry Ceremony; providing help with the ACS National Awards Canvassing Committee process; and drafting documents for the ACS Fellows Program.

The major responsibilities of the job are to:

1) assist with the production of the 2025 ACS Fellows Ceremony and the 2025 ACS Heroes of Chemistry Ceremony

2) support the 2026 National Awards Selection and Canvassing process

3) help with research activities of the National Awards Advisory Board

Education Requirements:
The Ideal candidate will be a rising junior or senior majoring in Communication or Business Management

* Currently pursuing a major in Communication or Business Management

Pay Transparency: This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office. The following are the intended hourly rates for this part time/nonexempt role: Rising Junior-$23.00; Rising Senior-$24.00; Current Grad/PhD Student- $27.00.

Any actual offer of employment, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be made in the sole discretion of ACS. ACS reserves the right to amend or modify its employment benefits and compensation structure at any time.

*This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. (or applicable) office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, two days per week. Schedule flexibility may be required for this role to support in-office activities. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other three days of the week from a location of their choice.
