The CTE and Education Center Coordinator is a multi-faceted position under Academic Affairs, reporting to the Associate Provost for Academic Community Engagement. This position coordinates Career and Technical Education (CTE) and educational outreach to rural areas the Utah Tech University (UT) education centers in Hurricane, Water Canyon, Kanab, Panguitch and other remote locations. The position coordinates various services at these remote locations, including course and program offerings, CTE, and Concurrent Enrollment, and provides registration assistance, academic support and advisement services. This position assists the Associate Provost with representing the institution at CTE regional and state meetings, supports CTE programs, and assists in the preparation of all CTE Perkins reports and budgets.

Responsibilities
-
- Support and promote Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses and programs at the Hurricane, Kanab, Water Canyon, Panguitch UT education centers and other rural and remote locations.
- Travel to regularly visit community and public-school partners at the Hurricane, Kanab, Water Canyon, Panguitch, and other UT rural and remote locations.
- Provide coordination for high-quality academic services, courses, and programs at the centers, including video broadcasting and online courses.
- Advise, test, and register Concurrent Enrollment students and collaborate with high school counseling staffs regarding course options available at remote locations across UT's service area.
- Represent UT at assigned CTE regional and state meetings, support CTE programs, and assist in the preparation of CTE Perkins reports and budgets, under the administration of the Associate Provost for Community Engagement.
- Collaborate with local industry and employers regarding UT CTE programs and course-taking options available on campus and at remote locations across UT's service area.
- Coordinate admissions, advisement, courses, and support for students in Concurrent Enrollment at Hurricane, Kanab, Water Canyon, Panguitch, and other remote locations.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with supervisor, colleagues, staff, faculty, students, secondary school, and community partners.
- Under the administration of the Associate Provost for Academic Community Engagement collaborate with appropriate community partners to build and promote CTE programs, including school, community, and industry partnerships.
- Support the Associate Provost in carrying out CTE programs. This includes bringing together strong academics, CTE, and real-world experience to help students gain an advantage in education and careers.
- Responsible for the marketing of course and CTE program offerings at the Hurricane, Kanab, Water Canyon, Panguitch, and other education center locations, including but not limited to print and web. Work with UT Public Relations Department in preparing all advertising campaigns.
- Manage and organize CTE data for analysis, reporting, and other CTE and Perkins duties as assigned.
- Coordinate with Hurricane, Kanab, Water Canyon, Panguitch, and other centers' support personnel, including assessing and addressing Hurricane, Kanab, Water Canyon, Panguitch, and other centers' facility and equipment needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Public Administration, Counseling, or a CTE related field is required; Master's degree preferred.
- Four years of classroom teaching and/or academic advising and/or recruiting experience and/or CTE in secondary or higher education is required.
- Must be well organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of working with a number of programs as well as being attentive to detail.
- Ability to interact with faculty, staff, and university constituencies at all levels while in a fast-paced environment, remaining proactive, resourceful, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to interact with community and public education stakeholders at all levels with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Internet, and email.
- Highly developed communication and planning skills (ability to communicate verbally and in writing with faculty, staff, administrators, and the public) are required.
- Effective organizational skills and the ability to provide leadership for faculty and staff in new program development and activities are required.
- Demonstrated commitment to student success and curricular innovations.
- Skills and experience in initiating, directing, managing, and performing activities that strengthened a department are preferred.
- Understanding of instructional technology and its impact on curricula is preferred.
- Evidence of engagement in the Southern Utah region is preferred.
- Good knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and correspondence skills.
- Experience developing, tracking, and monitoring budgetary expenditures and other fiscal items in a university environment is preferred.
- Marketing skills, including website development and social media, are preferred.
- Ability to properly represent UT in exercising excellent human relation skills.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time overtime-exempt staff position. Annual salary of $45,000+ depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of April 2025.
