Valiant Integrated Services has an exciting opportunity for a Security Specialist supporting the Undersea Warfighting Development Center (UWDC) in Groton, CT. UWDC, under the direction of Commander, Submarine Forces (COMSUBFOR), leads undersea superiority and enables the combat lethality and desired effects generated from, and within, the Undersea Domain.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:



  • Perform duties as assistant security manager.
  • Oversee the clearance and access of military and civilian members of the UWDC staff and visitors.
  • Prepare personnel indoctrination and check out paperwork.
  • Process incoming/outgoing visit requests.
  • Maintain access control database system.
  • Support the Command Security Manager and Special Security Officer.
  • Manage Defense Information Security System (DISS).
  • Initiate security clearance investigations.
  • Review personnel security investigation packages for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with the distribution of classified documents ensuring they are under a system of continuous signature receipt and accountability.
  • Ensure destruction and inventory reports are submitted and maintained as prescribed by directives.
  • Prepare regular, certified, registered, and express packages for pickup and delivery of classified mail.
  • Provide advice and conduct analysis with respect to physical and personnel security.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advice to the Commander of Submarine Forces and UWDC.
  • Liaise between warfighting and technical communities.
  • Travel approximately 1-3 occasions per year to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree, advanced degree preferred, in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

CLEARANCE: Active TS/SCI



  • Expertise in Department of Defense and Navy physical and personnel security requirements, instructions, systems, and procedures.
  • Relevant education or equivalent experience in physical and personnel security.
  • Knowledge in standard Microsoft office products.
  • Demonstrated superior attention to detail, coupled with a proven history of working issues with other staff members, understanding their requirements, and the ability to solve problems independently.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
