Our Molex facility in Caldwell, Idaho is seeking a Development Engineer to join our team tasked with developing complex fiber optic assemblies, sensors, and products for various applications. These fiber assemblies and sensors have use in a multitude of applications including and not limited to Astronomy, biomedical instrumentation, communications, digital projection, industrial laser, medical, quantum computing, spectroscopy, 1D & 2D arrays and sensors. Successful candidates will have education or experience with optics or fiber optics and eager to gain extensive knowledge in the industry while they are part of breakthrough cutting edge technology.

What You Will Do
* Hands-on development of new products based on optical fibers
* Interfacing with customers to determine their needs and requirements.
* Understanding Key physical phenomena, which influence fiber and fiber assembly performance both through experimental and theoretical analysis. Collecting and analyzing experimental data.
* Working closely with a small engineering team of engineers to identify root causes of the interdisciplinary problems and to generate creative engineering solutions.
* Documenting optical design and modification, test methodology, component specifications.
* Working closely with the manufacturing team to transfer prototype R&D design to manufacturing

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering with a focus in optics/fiber optics

What Will Put You Ahead
* Master's degree in Optics, Fiber optics or related discipline
