Job Summary:
The Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy Pulmonary and Critical Care, is seeking a candidate who will help advance asthma research in the Samarasinghe laboratory. Asthma is a common complex syndrome of the airways that we mimic in laboratory animals so that we can study the impact of respiratory infections on asthma. The Samarasinghe laboratory focuses on delineating mechanisms of lung immune responses during fungal, viral, and bacterial infections. Understanding the immune mechanisms at play during these infectious diseases leads to opportunities to develop novel therapeutics. Responsibilities: Identifies research problems, designs research methodologies, performs research, and helps to prepare the results for presentation to professional organizations or for scholarly publications to help advance research.
