MINE PARAMEDIC INCENTIVES Competitive starting wage, dependent on experience Schedule is a 5 days on/9 days off rotation Company paid crew housing while on shift We're hiring Mine Paramedics to provide direct patient care in accordance with GMR protocols and/or medical direction. They also assist with coverage of open shifts as needed with the assigned area. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Evaluates, treats, and stabilizes routine and urgent patients within the scope of practice and standing orders established by the sponsoring physician (Paramedic), with expanded scope responsibilities Consult with Medical Director as needed Administer over the counter medications Ordering/restocking of medical supplies Medical health screenings Administering flu shots and maintain proper documentation Restocking of First Aid Bags Restock Stoke Baskets Restock First-Aid Kits Assess each call situation to determine best course of action and appropriate protocol. Utilize medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, CPR and other procedures and medications as required to provide advanced medical care. Develop and utilize triage skills to provide optimal efficiency during calls. Provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements. Lift and move patients as required to provide optimum care. Act as team leader and take responsibility for scene management as needed. Monitor and maintain the general condition of the work area, keep it clean and stocked to maintain the image of Guardian Flight and GMR. Must stay current with advanced training, instructor credentials, and continuing education. Must successfully complete and remain current with MSHA required courses, participate in mine rescue drills; and must maintain all mine safety policies and complete all safety training. Ability to function independently and be a self-starter in isolated locations that have poor communication and no support agencies. Ability to climb a 75-foot vertical ladder with 50 lbs. of gear MUST be able to work underground in a hot and humid environment. All other duties assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Must be at least 18 years of age. Possess a valid Driver's License. Current State of Nevada Paramedic Certification. Driving record in compliance with GMR policy regarding insurability. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Paramedic, with the ability to function beyond the typical "street environment," where treatment may be the priority not transport. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work independently and as a team member, employ discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas, read, interpret, and follow instructions.
