Job Description

Position Description:

Responsible for providing leadership, vision, and strategy for the operations functions of the Retirement Plans division, this role is a key member of the Retirement Plans Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The position focuses on critical priorities such as leading the transition between platforms, driving automation and efficiency, and advising the SLT on system architecture and related technologies.

While the role emphasizes high-level strategy and concepts, it also requires the ability to step in and provide hands-on support when necessary. The leader must be willing to understand in detail the operational functions of team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing fully remote teams and demonstrate a strong commitment to employee engagement and development.


Utilize leadership and people management abilities to build and develop high-performing retirement plan operations teams. Employ analytical and strategic thinking skills using expertise in streamlining processes to enhance efficiency. Apply exceptional communication skills while effectively managing relationships with stakeholders. Interpret regulations and apply them to align with business operations. Leverage data analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making.

Position Location:

This role could be hybrid or remote based on proximity to an office location. Slight preference for someone to be in Lincoln, NE (with relocation assistance available), but willing to consider hybrid (Lincoln, NE) or remote.

What you do:



  • Oversee daily operations of retirement plan operations division.
  • Ensure operational compliance with all regulatory and fiduciary requirements.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and optimize workflows.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Responsible for championing innovative technological solutions to support service activities and find ways to automate manual tasks.
  • Creates and communicates a vision and strategy for the division. Play a large role advising senior management on system architecture, surrounding technology, and working closely with IT partners to implement that plan.
  • Oversees and develops associate and business resources. Create a highly engaged team.
  • Builds internal and external relationships to promote and grow the business.
  • Represents the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values by exemplifying leadership and customer focus.



What you bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional knowledge of compliance, plan design, and operational risk management within the retirement plans space (ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations) required.
  • 10+ years of experience in retirement plan recordkeeping and operations required.
  • Proven track record in managing large teams and overseeing operational processes required.
  • Strong background in including 401(k), 403(b), 457, PEP/MEP, profit-sharing plans and exceptional knowledge of recordkeeping, implementations, and operations required.
  • Experience with vendor management and large recordkeeping system conversions and upgrades desired.
  • Diverse experience with retirement plan technology platforms (e.g., recordkeeping or administration systems) desired. Currently we use both Relius and Omni (FIS product) as recordkeeping platforms.

About this Position's Pay
The pay range posted reflects a nationwide minimum to maximum covering all potential locations where the position may be filled. The final determination on pay for any position will be based on multiple factors including role, career level, work location, skill set, and candidate level of experience to ensure pay equity within the organization. This position will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits package (see above for details). This position will be eligible to participate in our Short-Term Incentive Plan with the annual target defined by the plan.
