SRT is seeking a Member Service Technician (MST) Supervisor to join and oversee our Member Service Technicians and Forman. This position is responsible for the supervision of all Member Service Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages and makes recommendations on departmental organization, staffing, employee development, training, budget and work procedures and practices.
  • Supervises installation, maintenance, and servicing operations for the MST department, monitors work schedules for installation and maintenance of Business and residential services.
  • Works closely with Engineering, Member Service Specialists, and OSP Support Specialists departments to ensure projects and workload are completed in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Performs vehicle, equipment and tool safety inspections incorporating OSHA, DOT and SRT regulations and policies. Investigates job related accidents and alerts department employees to hazards relating to work performance including falls, electric shock or flash, dangers of weather and traffic, and the overall safety of the employees.
  • Conducts monthly departmental safety meetings in cooperation with the Safety and Training Coordinator.
  • Works closely with the Vehicle Fleet Manager to maintain and service the vehicle fleet for the MST department.
  • Monitors and analyzes the GPS tracking and reporting system to maximize efficiency. Analyzes the data and makes recommendations to the department director.
  • Identify specific training requirements and needs based off observations and communication with the Central Office and MST Foremen and staff.
  • Reviews facility (Central Office) conditions and makes recommendations to the Director of Field Operations on major facility improvements and upgrades.
  • Maintains an effective relationship with all Field Operations work groups and coordinates effectively with other departments.
  • Conducts regular field checks to ensure that technicians adhere to established installation and repair standards, safety requirements, and maintain quality workmanship.
  • Reviews, approves, and accounts for the direct purchases of fuel, vehicle and equipment repair, and material purchases.
  • Evaluates and researches test equipment, tools, equipment needs; provides input for the annual budget.
  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of provisions in the Union Contract.



Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Work requires the ability to provide effective supervision, support and direction to others.
  • Work requires a thorough knowledge of the company organization, administration, standards, regulations and rules.
  • Ability to understand and maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological developments and new equipment.
  • Ability to develop and justify budgets, cost estimates and worker/equipment recommendations. Understand thoroughly the concept and scope of telecommunications network and residential services operations.
  • Accept the responsibility for independent decisions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Work requires above average communication skills to effectively manage the employees and activities of the MST department.
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word & Excel.


  • Bachelor's degree in management


  • A degree in electrical or electronics is preferred.
  • Five to ten years of telecommunications experience preferred.
  • Two to three years of previous supervisory experience preferred.
