Position Title: Welder/Fabricator
Wage: $19-$30/hour Shift: Day Hours: Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm + OT on Friday QPS Employment Group is hiring for a Welder/Fabricator for a company in Springfield, MO. This is a contract to hire role. Welder/Fabricator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Work with tight tolerances - Proficiently perform GMAW/GTAW processes - Weld and inspect products in a safe and efficient manner to meet customer requirements - Fit-up and layout - Fit and weld assemblies per engineering drawings - Properly use fabrication shop hand tools (grinders, drills, air tools, etc.) - Operate vertical band saws, drill press, and plasma cutter - Produce parts for assembly operations - Complete and maintain paperwork - Work with the following sheetmetal thickness mild/stainless steel: 18GA, 16GA, 14GA, 12GA, 11GA, 10GA, and 7GA - Read engineering drawings - Participate in continual improvement - Position workpiece manually with fork truck, or with a crane - Set own machine for materials welded - Adjust welder as needed to maintain part quality - Verify and refer to Bill of materials (BOM) - Continuously produce at an acceptable level of productivity with some supervision - Assemble fabricated parts to produce a completed quality machine - Learn and assembly multiple product lines - Meet established deadlines with minimal re-work - Work independently while training entry-level welders - Maintain and clean equipment and tools - Flexible working schedule to support production needs - Keep work area clean and neat; complete daily cleaning schedule - Work overtime as needed; on-time and dependable - Work under direct supervision and independently Welder/Fabricator Requirements: - Minimum 1 year of welding/fabricating with various metals - High school diploma or GED desired, but not required - Basic computer skills - Pipe welding experience is a plus - Routinely use heavy equipment such as welder, plasma cutter, pipe threader, various hand tools, brake press, shear, fork trucks, jib crane, and pallet jacks - Work is performed in a high noise level production environment on concrete floors with varying temperature from 55 to 95 degrees F - Regularly stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear - Frequently reach with hands and arms - Occasionally kneel, crouch, walk, and stand for long periods of time - Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds - Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the Midwest.
